Khatib Md Ruhul Amin dismissed

Dhaka, Sept 22 -  Mufti Md Ruhul Amin has been dismissed from his position as Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, according to a press release from the Islamic Foundation on Sunday.

The press release also noted that Ruhul Amin, who hails from Gopalganj, had been absent from the mosque following the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.

After six weeks of absence, Ruhul Amin returned on Friday to lead the Jumma prayer. However, a group of worshippers refused to pray behind him, resulting in a clash between two factions inside the mosque. Several people were injured in the altercation.-UNB
