OIC Secy-Gen Welcomes Member States on Advent of Ramadan

Jeddah, 28 February , 2025 - H.E. the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, extended his warmest congratulations and greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1446 Hijri, and to the OIC Member States, expressing his congratulations to the host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his faithful Crown Prince, Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to all leaders of the OIC Member States, and all Muslim peoples on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of goodness and blessings.

Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His blessings and serenity on the Muslim Ummah in this holy month, leading to the end of crises and conflicts in various parts of the Muslim world.

The Secretary-General expressed his deep sorrow and concern over the tragic conditions experienced by the population of the Gaza Strip, which has been stricken by the brutal Israeli aggression for a year and four months, along with expressing his concern over the ongoing Israeli crimes and attacks on the West Bank, occupied Al-Quds and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Secretary-General expressed his wishes that Allah Almighty would grant the Palestinian people His support and victory, and that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque would be liberated from the clutches of the Israeli occupation, and that the holy month of Ramadan would be a decisive turning point towards the Palestinian people regaining their rights, achieving their destiny and establishing their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He also prayed to Allah Almighty to make this holy month an end to the tragedies and pains of all Muslims and an occasion for the return of the displaced and refugees to their homes and homelands. 

The Secretary-General stressed that the holy month of Ramadan is a month of fasting and prayer for all Muslims, and an opportunity to practice the values of goodness, compassion and solidarity, and to preserve lives and spread the spirit of peace, calling for extending a helping hand to the needy, the destitute and those suffering from harsh conditions in refugee and displacement camps. – OIC News
