Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday that ongoing armed clashes in Syria’s Druze-majority Sweida province risk destabilizing the wider region, according to a statement from the Turkish presidency.

During a phone call, Erdogan expressed concern over the violence that erupted following the withdrawal of Syrian security forces from the area. He emphasized that the unrest poses "a threat to the entire region" and underscored the importance of preserving Syria’s sovereignty. Erdogan also stressed that any violations by Israel could further escalate tensions, the statement added.
