Four Killed in Tangail Road Accident

Four people were killed in a tragic head-on collision between a passenger bus and a pick-up van early this morning in Modhupur upazila, Tangail. The accident occurred around 5:30 AM in front of Malauri Primary School on the Tangail-Jamalpur regional highway.


According to police, a Dhaka-bound bus operated by the Binimoy company collided with a Jamalpur-bound pick-up truck, resulting in the immediate deaths of two passengers. The deceased have been identified as Rabiul Islam, 28, and Baraillah, 42, both from Mohammadpur village in Islampur upazila, Jamalpur. The other two victims, Pick-up driver Sujan Mia, 35, and Amjad Hossen, 28, also succumbed to their injuries shortly after being transported to the Modhupur Upazila Health Complex.

Russel Ahmed, Inspector of Investigation at Modhupur Police Station, confirmed that the collision occurred when the vehicles collided head-on. The impact left both vehicles severely damaged.

Police have seized both vehicles involved in the crash, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
