At least six people, including five women, were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a truck on Bonpara-Hatikumrul Highway in Baraigram upazila of Natore district on Wednesday morning.

The identities of the casualties are yet to be determined, said officer-in-charge of Baraigram Police Station Golam Sarwar.

He said the accident occurred around 10:30am when the Dhaka-bound microbus from Natore crashed into the truck in Sirampur Araimari Bridge area, leaving five dead on the spot and two others, including the microbus driver, injured.

Locals took the injured two to a nearby hospital where physicians declared one of them dead upon arrival, he said, adding that the condition of the injured driver was stated to be critical.

All the deceased were passengers of the microbus, the police official said, adding that a legal process was underway in this connection, reports UNB.
