Govt suspends AC Rangpur for remaining absent in work place

The ministry of home affairs has suspended a former Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Md Arifuzzaman for remaining absent at work place since October 14 last year without the approval of authorities concerned.


“The ministry has suspended former AC Md Arifuzzaman, on charges of ‘misconduct’ and ‘desertion’ from the service following the Section 3 (Kha) and 3(Ga) and Sub-section 12 (1) of the Government Service Act (Discipline and Appeal), 2018,” said a ministry notification here recently.

Senior Secretary of the ministry Nasimul Ghani, signed the notification issued on August 14.

It said Arifuzzaman, assistant superintendent of police of the Armed Police Battalion-2 (APBn-2), Muktagacha, Mymensingh remained absent from duty since October 14, 2024, reports BSS. 

The notifications said he will be entitled to get subsistence allowances during the suspension period, the notification added.
