Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the proposed budget for fiscal 2023-2024 will help turn around from the ongoing crisis and it will help build Smart Bangladesh envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Speaking in the House this afternoon after the budget was placed, the AL general secretary said the budget has been made in such a way so that the people's suffering could be minimized, reports BSS.

The prices of several commodities have started to come down and the prices of products will remain within the purchasing capacity of people, he said.

Terming the proposed budget a 'pro-people one', Quader, also the road transport minister, said it is a pro-people budget as has been prepared keeping in mind the necessity of commoners.

He said this budget is time-befitting and public-welfare oriented one.

Nanak said: "This budget will build the Smart Bangladesh as we are going to develop under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It will also help ensure smart urbanisation and build smart people".
