Climate Chance, in partnership with the city of Marseille, is co-organizing the Climate Chance Europe Africa 2025 Summit on the theme "Adaptation: Taking action" on March 31st and April 1st at the Palais du Pharo in Marseille.

2,000 participants are expected at what is shaping up to be one of the major climate events of 2025. The summit aims to:

Help strengthen adaptation policies in France and the European Union.

Strengthen dialogue and cooperation between non-state actors involved in adaptation issues.

Strengthen dialogue between Europe and Africa.

Mobilise civil society in Marseille and the surrounding area.

Several initiatives, partners, and networks, both national and international, are involved in the Climate Chance Europe Africa 2025 Summit. Among these partners are: the AIMF (International Association of Francophone Mayors), the European Committee of the Regions, Energy Cities, the European Climate Pact, the National Federation of Urban Planning Agencies (FNAU), ICLEI Europe, the Research Institute for Development (IRD), Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF), the media Actu Environnement, AfriVe, and many others!

The objective of the summit is to produce a strong advocacy statement, collectively built and carried forward through the "Marseille Declaration" and the "Marseille Action Plan: 50 Actions to Develop for Adaptation in Europe."

The Marseille Summit will mark a new milestone, continuing the momentum from the Climate Chance Europe Wallonia 2024 Summit, which is essential for strengthening European adaptation strategies and policies, fostering Europe-Africa cooperation, and advancing collective efforts on these issues. – Media release
