A Dhaka court summoned four people including former national cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan in an IFIC Bank cheque dishonour case.

Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque issued the summons on Wednesday.

Khandaker Shahriar Alam, a court clerk, said Shakib Al Hasan was named in a cheque fraud case on December 15. The court issued summons for Shakib after hearing on Wednesday.

The court ordered Shakib to appear before it on January 18.

Bank’s Relationship Officer Shahibur Rahman filed the case with the court on December 15.

Two directors and the Managing Director of Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm were also named in the case.

Earlier on November 4, IFIC Bank served a legal notice to Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited, an entity owned by its namesake and the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, after a cheque was issued by the company bounced. - Special Correspondent
