Dengue claims 8 more lives, 1,782 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Eight more people died of dengue and 1,782 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Thursday.

With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 209 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the deaths, three each died in Dhaka South City Corporation and Khulna division while one each died in Dhaka North City Corporation and Mymensingh division, reports UNB.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 69,149 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 63,874 have recovered.
