A woman was allegedly hacked to death by a youth at Dhamoirhat area in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram.



A woman was allegedly hacked to death by a youth at Dhamoirhat area in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram.
The incident took place under the Dhamoirhat branch of One Bank around 8:30 pm on Sunday (March 5).
The deceased was identified as Champa Chakma, 28, daughter of Shantimoy Chakma from Rangamati district. She used to work at an NGO named ‘Padakhep’.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangunia police station Md Mahbub Milki confirmed the matter.
A youth allegedly hacked Champa Chakma at Dhamoirhat area in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram while she was returning home from her workplace, the OC said.
Being informed, locals rescued the injured woman and took her to Rangunia Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared her dead.
The body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the police official said, adding that police are trying to nab the youth involved in the murder.
