The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) traffic division has filed 1,418 cases and collected fines totaling Tk 59 lakh during a crackdown on traffic rule violators in the capital on Wednesday.

In a media release on Thursday afternoon, Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the DMP, provided details of the operation, which aimed to enforce traffic discipline across Dhaka.

As part of the enforcement effort, authorities impounded 107 vehicles and towed 73 others, targeting high-risk areas prone to traffic violations.

The DMP stressed that such operations will continue to ensure better traffic management and promote road safety in the city.
