Three Killed in Shooting Incident in Jhenidah

Three people were shot dead in a targeted attack in Jhenidah, with the incident occurring at the Ramchandrapur Tribeni Crematory, also known as the "Piarpur five murder area," in Shailkupa upazila around 11pm on February 21, confirmed Masum Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa police station.


Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and upon arriving at the scene, police found three bodies. Among the deceased, two were identified as Hanif, a leader of the Purbo Banglar Communist Party, and Liton. The third victim remains unidentified. Authorities believe the victims were shot in the chest and head.

Locals confirmed that the victims were not residents of the area, and they gathered outside their homes after hearing the gunfire.

OC Masum Khan stated, "We discovered the bodies after responding to reports of the shooting. Based on the evidence, it appears the victims were killed by gunshots."

Police also recovered two black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles and a magazine of bullets from the scene. Investigations are ongoing.
