Man found killed in Benapole: Police

A 38-year-old man was murdered by slitting his throat in Chhoto Anchra village under Benapole Port Police Station of Jashore late Thursday.


The deceased identified as Mizanur Rahman, was son of late Hanif Sardar of the village and a butcher by profession.

Quoting family members, police said Mizanur went out of the house on Thursday afternoon and did not return home. He was scheduled to slaughter cattle around 2:30 am.

Late at night, a man came to call him but moments after his wife came out the house and found his body lying in the courtyard with the throat slit.

On information, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body, reports UNB. 

Officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station Russell Mia said a sharp knife was seized from the spot. No arrests have been made yet but efforts are underway to identify those involved.
