Australia Reaffirms Support for BD’s Reform Efforts

Australia has reaffirmed its continued support for Bangladesh's interim government and its ongoing reform initiatives.
Acting Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Nardia Simpson, conveyed this message during a farewell meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.
During the discussion, Ambassador Simpson reflected on the significant events of July and August, emphasizing the strong bond between the two countries. "It has been emotional. We've shared in the journey with the people of Bangladesh," she said, praising the generosity and hospitality of the Bangladeshi people. She described her four-year tenure in the country as a "wonderful experience."
Professor Yunus invited Ambassador Simpson to participate in the events marking the first anniversary of the July uprising in August this year. He also mentioned plans to invite other ambassadors who were stationed in Bangladesh during the student-led movement.
The Chief Adviser shared that he would lead a commission focused on building consensus and holding dialogue with political parties based on reports from major reform commissions.
Lamiya Morshed, Principal Coordinator of SDG Affairs, also attended the meeting.
