Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Dhaka, Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, reaffirmed the US government's strong commitment to supporting Bangladesh's ongoing democratic transformation during a meeting with Foreign Secretary Md. Jashim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

In a statement following the meeting, Jacobson highlighted Washington's dedication to enhancing bilateral relations with Bangladesh across key sectors, including trade, investment, development cooperation, energy security, public health, and institutional strengthening. She also emphasized continued efforts to address the plight of forcibly displaced Rohingyas.

The Foreign Secretary welcomed the US envoy’s remarks and reiterated the Interim Government's pledge, under the leadership of Professor Muhammad Yunus, to conduct free, fair, and credible elections.

The two officials also exchanged views on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and its global ramifications.
