On Sunday, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, reaffirmed China's commitment to being Bangladesh’s most dependable ally, stressing that the two nations’ relationship would continue to flourish and strengthen in the coming years.

"China stands as the most trustworthy and reliable friend of Bangladesh. Our longstanding policy of friendship and good neighborliness remains steadfast towards the people of Bangladesh," Ambassador Yao stated.

He made these comments while hosting members of the Bangladesh Friendship Delegation, who visited China from February 24 to March 6, during a dinner reception. The event was organized by BNP Standing Committee member and delegation leader, along with his wife, Rokhsana Khondker, at their residence in Gulshan, Dhaka.

"During your visit, I am certain you experienced the warmth and goodwill of the Chinese people towards Bangladesh," the Ambassador remarked to the delegation. He expressed his hope that the successful visit would lead to stronger bilateral ties and increased cooperation between the two countries.

The delegation, which comprised 21 members, returned to Bangladesh on March 6 after an 11-day trip to China, organized at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Dr. Moyeen Khan, who was part of the delegation, thanked the Chinese Ambassador for organizing such an enriching experience. The group, which included representatives from eight political parties, students, scholars, journalists, and researchers, expressed deep appreciation for the hospitality and cordiality they received from Chinese authorities.

Dr. Khan also highlighted that the delegation’s trip brought back a key message: enhancing bilateral relations and fostering closer cooperation between China and Bangladesh, particularly in strengthening people-to-people bonds.

Looking ahead, the BNP leader expressed optimism about the future of the relationship, emphasizing that the ties between the two nations would continue to deepen for their mutual benefit.

The visit to China was seen by Chinese authorities as an important part of their strategy to strengthen multiparty relations with Bangladesh, particularly in the wake of the political shifts in the country last August.
