Two more die of measles-like symptoms in 24hrs

Two more children have died from measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in 24 hours till 8:00am on Sunday, taking the total death toll to 585 since March 15, 2026.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified both the casualties as suspected.

With this, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 495, while the confirmed deaths remained the same at 90.

A total of 1,324 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the overall suspected cases to 70,936.

During the same period, 53 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 9,049, reports UNB.

Since March 15, a total of 56,886 suspected measles patients were hospitalised, of whom 52,841 have recovered, according to the DGHS data.
