Dengue: 2 more die, 723 hospitalised in 24 hours

Two people died of dengue and 723 new patients were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours until 8:00am on Wednesday.


With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 63 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new deaths were reported in Khulna and Barishal divisions, it said.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 21,550 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, reports UNB.

Of them, 19,894 have recovered and been discharged, while 1,593 patients are currently undergoing treatment, according to the DGHS.
