Dhaka, Jan 29 - Bangladesh reported 10,378 Covid-19 cases as it posted 31.10 percent positives in 33,373 samples that were tested in the 24 hours ending on Saturday morning.
“A total of 21 more COVID-19 patients died during the period, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 28,329,” Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement.
In the 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus in Dhaka city and upazilas of the district is 6,379 while nine Covid-19 deaths were reported during the period.
The total number of coronavirus positive cases has so far stood at 17,73,149, the statement said.
The recovery count rose to 15,63,478 after another 1,109 patients were discharged from the hospitals in the past one day.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 88.18 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.60 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
The DGHS said among the total 28,329 fatalities, 12,394 occurred in Dhaka division, 5,742 in Chattogram, 2,076 in Rajshahi, 3,632 in Khulna, 959 in Barishal, 1,286 in Sylhet, 1,380 in Rangpur and 860 in Mymensingh division. - Agency and News Desk
