Schoolboy dies after falling from rooftop in Dhaka’s Chawkbazar

DHAKA, Sept. 24 - A 13-year-old schoolboy died after accidentally falling from the roof of a seven-storey building in the Chawkbazar area of Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Alif, 13, a fourth-grade student at Islambag Ashraf Ali School and son of Mohammad Kabir, residing in the East Islambag Boubazar area of Chawkbazar.
According to the victim's father, Alif accidentally fell from the seventh-floor rooftop while playing around 2pm.
He was critically injured and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 3:00 p.m.. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at 6pm.
Inspector Md. Habibur Rahman, in-charge of the DMCH Police Camp, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for further legal formalities. - UNB
