Following the re-scrutiny of answer scripts, 286 students under the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board secured GPA-5 in the SSC and equivalent examinations.
Among them, three students upgraded from a fail to GPA-5, while 293 others passed after initially failing. The updated results were announced on Sunday by Dhaka Board Examination Controller Prof SM Kamal Uddin Hayder.
This year, 92,863 students applied for re-scrutiny of a total of 223,664 answer scripts—a significant increase from last year, with roughly 21,000 more applicants and 40,000 additional scripts reviewed compared to 2024.
Mathematics had the highest number of re-scrutiny requests at 42,936 scripts, followed by English first and second papers with 19,688 each, Physics with 16,233, and Bangla first and second papers with 13,558. Fine Arts had the fewest applications, with just six.
The re-scrutiny process does not involve re-evaluating answers but ensures marks were correctly totaled, no questions were left unmarked, and scores were accurately recorded on the OMR sheets. Necessary corrections were made before the revised results were published.
