200 people receive treatment at JPC’s eye camp
Around 200 members and staff of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) received free treatment at an eye camp on Thursday.
Dhaka, Oct 7 : Around 200 members and staff of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) received free treatment at an eye camp on Thursday.
As part of a two-week programme to mark its 67th founding anniversary, JPC organised the eye camp at an auditorium of the club in cooperation with Sandhani National Eye Donation Society.
The eye screening camp began at 9am continued till 2pm.
A nine-member team of doctors from Sandhani Eye Hospital, led by its chief consultant Malik Iftekhar Siddique, conducted the eye camp.
At the closing ceremony of the eye camp, JPC President Farida Yasmin thanked Sandhani for providing cooperation in holding the eye camp. ”Our club members have benefited from the eye camp.”
On behalf of Sandhani National Eye Donation Society, Prof Dr Mani Lal Aich Litu said their organisation is honuored to be able to conduct the eye camp at the Jatiya Press Club.
He said they will continue their medical support to the JPC in the future.
On October 4, JPC Acting General Secretary Mainul Alam announced the two-week programmes to celebrate the club’s 67th founding anniversary on October 20.
The programmes began on Wednesday with a meeting remembering 34 club members who died over the last one year, reports.
