One dead, dozens injured in Rangpur central jail clash

A clash between two groups of inmates at Rangpur Central Jail early Friday resulted in one death and more than 50 injuries.

Prison guards fired shots around 12:30 a.m. to control the situation.
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mobasher Hasan confirmed the incident and stated that assistance from the army and police is being requested to manage the situation.
