Bangladesh women's football team goes down to UAE

Dhaka, 27 Feb-The Bangladesh women's national football team went down 3-1 against host United Arab Emirates (UAE) national women's football team in their first FIFA International Friendly match at UAE Football Association Pitch 1 on Wednesday night.

Georgia netted a brace, while Elizabeth added a lone goal to secure victory for UAE. Bangladesh skipper Afeida pulled one back for her team.

UAE took the lead in the 18th minute when Elizabeth found the net, followed by Georgia doubling the advantage in the 28th minute. Bangladesh reduced the deficit in the 34th minute as Afeida successfully converted a spot kick.


After the break, Georgia struck again in the 73rd minute to seal the win for UAE. Despite their efforts, Bangladesh failed to score in the remaining proceedings.

The second friendly match between the two sides is scheduled for March 2.
