Ex army officer Ziaul Ahsan arrested in murder case

Former Major General Ziaul Ahsan was arrested last night in connection with a murder case filed at New Market Police Station in Dhaka.
The arrest occurred in Khilkhet based on confidential information, as reported by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police via WhatsApp.
Ziaul Ahsan, who had been serving as the director general of the NTMC, was relieved of his military duties on August 6.
He was previously detained under dramatic circumstances the same night after his flight was redirected from the runway back to the boarding bridge at Dhaka airport.
