Shahjahan Omar, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Jhalokati-1 constituency



Police have arrested Shahjahan Omar, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Jhalokati-1 constituency, from Rajapur in Jhalakathi.

Police said he was arrested on Wednesday and is expected to be produced before court today on (Thursday).
On Wednesday night, unidentified miscreants reportedly attacked and vandalised the former MP's residence in Rajapur-Kathalia area.
Shahjahan Omar served as an MP for the Jhalakathi-1 constituency, covering Rajapur and Kathalia, reports UNB.
