BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi
“We are deeply concerned about the series of incidents unfolding around us. This concern is not personal, but about the very state itself. We have seen in the past that whenever there is public protest against a secretary or minister, important documents from the Secretariat mysteriously vanish, and fires break out,” he remarked.
Rizvi made the statements during a discussion organized by the Rajshahi University Nationalist Ex-Student Association (RUNESA) to commemorate “Bloodstained Motihar and Rizvi Ahmed on December 22, 1984.”
The BNP leader called for a thorough investigation into the fire, suggesting that it was sparked by demands for certain documents tied to Sheikh Hasina and her political allies. He pointed out that the destruction of such important documents in the blaze has raised alarming questions among the public.
Rizvi also criticized the role of India, questioning why the neighboring country continues to shelter Sheikh Hasina despite knowing the full extent of her political actions. “India is systematically spreading propaganda about Bangladesh. It has attempted to push forward its own interests in our country through Sheikh Hasina. After she fled, only India recognized the changed political situation in Bangladesh,” he asserted.
In addition to Rizvi, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Habibur Rahman Habib also participated in the discussion.
