“There is no alternative but to enhance our capacity in technology and innovation to progress in today’s world,” he stated.
Chowdhury made these remarks as the chief guest at the seminar titled 'Activation Program of University Innovation Hub' held at the cafeteria building of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) this afternoon.
He highlighted the significance of innovation and creativity in technology, stating that students would have the opportunity to explore these areas through the incubation labs at Pirganj, Rangpur. "Initially, BRUR students will have access to two out of five labs in the center. This initiative will eventually be extended to all students and implemented locally," he explained.
The seminar was presided over by Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, who underscored the institution’s commitment to integrating practical education alongside academic learning. “Our university places significant emphasis on hands-on experience, and many of our students are already excelling in the IT sector, with many pursuing freelancing opportunities,” he noted.
Prior to the seminar, a joint delegation from the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Begum Rokeya University visited the IT Training and Incubation Center in Pirganj, Rangpur. During their visit, the delegates exchanged insights with local entrepreneurs and professionals involved in outsourcing.
