Committee Formed to Review Press Accreditation Policy 2022

A 17-member committee has been established to reevaluate the Press Accreditation Policy 2022, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced on Thursday.


The committee will be chaired by Md Sarwar Alam, Press Secretary to the President, with Mohammad Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan, Deputy Chief Information Officer at the Department of Information, serving as member secretary. Md Ataur Rahman Khan NDC, Additional Secretary of the Public Security Division, will act as the convener.

Tasked with reviewing the policy, the committee will propose necessary changes, amendments, and improvements, and submit its findings to the Ministry Secretary, according to the notification.

The other committee members are:

  1. Md. Kausar Ahmed, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
  2. Md. Nizamul Kabir, Chief Information Officer, Department of Information
  3. Khaleda Begum, Director General, Department of Films and Publications
  4. Abul Kalam Azad Mazumder, Deputy Press Secretary, Office of the Chief Adviser
  5. Fayez Ahmed, Senior Assistant Press Secretary, Office of the Chief Adviser
  6. Md. Obaidur Rahman Shaheen, Acting President, BFUJ
  7. Md. Shahidul Islam, President, DUJ
  8. Abu Saleh Akon, President, Dhaka Reporters' Unity
  9. Daulat Akhtar Mala, President, Economic Reporters' Forum
 10. Elias Hossain, Trustee, Broadcast Journalists Centre
 11. Shikdar Abir Mahmud (Sam) Jahan, Founding Convener, Bangladeshi Journalists in International Media (BJAIM)
 12. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Member, DCAB and BSRF
 13. Saleem Samad, Bangladesh Correspondent, Reporters Without Borders (RSF)
 14. Indrajit Kumar Ghosh, President, Bangladesh Photojournalist Association

The committee is expected to submit its report to the Information and Broadcasting Secretary by February 10.
