Patuakhali: The body of a fisherman named Sajib (25), who went missing in the waves while fishing in the sea near Kuakata, was recovered after 24 hours. On Tuesday (September 3) afternoon, the body was found on the beach adjacent to Gangamati tamarisk garden in Dhulasar Union of the Upazila. The deceased Sajib is the son of Liton Sikdar of Chhota Bighai village of Patuakhali sadar upazila.

According to the police, on Monday (02 September) in the afternoon, the fisherman Sajib and his relative Shahin took a trawler from Ashakhali estuary of Dhulasar Union and went to the sea for fishing.

As the sea was rough, Sajib was thrown from the trawler by the waves and went missing. After much searching, he was not found. His body was found in tidal water in Gangamati area on Tuesday afternoon.

Delwar Hossain, in-charge of the Kuakata Naval Police outpost, said that after the disappearance, the Naval Police conducted a lot of searches with the fishermen. But there is no trace of him. His body was found 24 hours later on Tuesday afternoon in the tidal water. A UD case has been filed in the police station in this incident. - Gofran Biswas Palash
