On Monday night, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) apprehended five individuals attempting to illegally enter India via the Malkadanga border in Boda Upazila, Panchagarh district.

The detainees, identified as Nand Kishore Roy (45), Parimal Roy (21), Nityananda Roy (21), Sanjay Chandra (17), and Kalyan Roy (24), hail from Domar Upazila in Nilphamari district.

According to a press release from Lt. Col. Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoza, Commander of BGB-56 Battalion, the arrests followed a tip-off that led a BGB patrol team to the Shuyerpara area, approximately 100 yards inside Bangladesh.

In addition to the arrests, the BGB seized cash and mobile phones from the group. The detainees are currently being processed for transfer to the Boda Police Station for further investigation.
