Israel’s military launched airstrikes on multiple targets in Yemen on Thursday, targeting sites linked to the Iran-aligned Houthi movement. Among the locations hit were Sanaa International Airport and three key ports along Yemen’s western coast.

The strikes also targeted Yemen’s Hezyaz and Ras Kanatib power stations, along with military infrastructure in the ports of Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Kanatib, according to Israel’s military statement.

The Houthis have not yet commented on the strikes, but the group has previously fired drones and missiles at Israel, framing these attacks as acts of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Al Masirah TV, the Houthi-run news outlet, reported the strikes on the airport, Hodeidah, and one of the power stations.

The ongoing Houthi attacks over the past year have disrupted critical international shipping routes through the Red Sea, prompting companies to reroute their shipments at higher costs, exacerbating concerns over global inflation.

Israel has urged its diplomatic missions in Europe to advocate for the Houthis to be designated as a terrorist organization.

The U.N. Security Council is scheduled to meet on Monday to discuss the Houthi missile strikes against Israel, as confirmed by Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon on Wednesday.

In a recent incident on Saturday, Israel's military failed to intercept a missile launched from Yemen, which struck the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area, injuring 14 people.
