A grand Tafsirul Quran Mahfil featuring renowned Islamic scholar and researcher Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari is set to take place at Baruakhali village in Nawabganj Upazila, Dhaka district, on Saturday.

The mahfil will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until 4:00 PM, with Dr. Azhari as the keynote speaker. Dhaka District BNP President Khandaker Abu Ashfaq will attend as the chief guest.

The event will also feature performances by various artist groups, including Saimum Shilpi Gosthi. Organisers anticipate a massive turnout, estimating that 1.5 million people may attend. Mahfil Steering Committee President Md. Shahjahan Sikder confirmed the details in a press release.

A vast 1,000-acre agricultural land has been transformed into the mahfil ground, with local farmers voluntarily offering their land for the event. The stage, helipad, and main pandal have already been completed, while ablution facilities and toilets are under construction.

According to Abdullah Al Mamun Khan, advisor to the Mahfil Committee and former chairman of Baruakhali Union, seven separate fields have been prepared for female attendees, while 12 designated fields have been allocated for car parking.

To ensure smooth proceedings, 30 LED screens will be installed for better visibility, and a free medical camp has been set up for attendees traveling from distant areas. The event will have six ambulances on standby, and a temporary mobile tower has been installed to maintain network coverage.

A large number of law enforcement personnel will be deployed to maintain security. Traffic police will manage vehicle movement at 30 key points, while a Fire Service unit will be on standby. Additionally, authorities have requested the presence of Army and Ansar members for enhanced security.

Thousands of volunteers, including female police officers, will be engaged to ensure a well-organized and peaceful event.

Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari will deliver his speech after Zohr prayers. The mahfil management committee has urged everyone to extend their full cooperation to make the gathering a success.
