The well-marked low pressure has formed into a depression over the Bay of Bengal. Heavy to moderate rain accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is occurring over the coastal belt.

Azad Kabir, officer-in-charge of the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Center of Sundarbans, said usual tidal surge occurs due to the full moon. Besides, due to the depression, various areas of the forest, including the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Centre, have been flooded by tidal surge.
However, no loss of wildlife has been reported so far, said the official.
Dilip Majumder of Dublar Char Police Outpost said the island has been flooded by three feet tidal surge. Many fishing boats and trawlers have taken shelter.
According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the low-lying areas of the coastal districts and their offshore island and chars are likely to be inundated by three feet tidal surge above normal astronomical tide due to the depression.
Also, heavy to moderate rain and squally weather may affect the coastal districts.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No. 3.
