Govt to procure 1.20cr litres soybean oil

The commerce ministry has taken initiative to procure 1.20 crore litres of soyabean oil through two separate tenders.



The commerce ministry has taken initiative to procure 1.20 crore litres of soyabean oil through two separate tenders.

The purchase proposals include – 40 lakh liters of soybean oil and four lakh liters of rice bran oil. The total cost of the procurement proposal will be Tk185.60 crore.

Sources said following the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, various products are being sold at affordable prices through the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) for the low earners. As part of this, this edible oil will be procured through local tenders.

Two separate procurement proposals in this regard will be presented in the next meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement for approval. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will preside over the meeting.
