PIB, Editors Alliance to launch digital journalism training
The Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and the Online Editors Alliance are set to launch a joint training programme aimed at equipping media professionals with essential skills in online and digital journalism.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting held at the PIB headquarters on Monday, attended by PIB Director General Faruq Wasif and leaders of the Online Editors Alliance.
Alliance President Hasan Sharif, Vice President KM Ziaul Haque, General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Sohel, Joint General Secretary MAHM Kabir Ahmed, Finance Secretary Moin Bokul, and Office Secretary Mashud Bin Abdur Razzak, were also present.
Their discussions highlighted the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) in digital journalism, the importance of fact-checking to combat misinformation and the need to acquire new technology-driven skills.
PIB Director General Faruq Wasif said that the training programme for Alliance members will begin next month.
He also urged the Online Editors Alliance to collaborate in providing training for aspiring professionals in online and digital journalism.
Experienced PIB trainers and senior journalists from the Online Editors Alliance will jointly conduct the sessions, reports UNB.
