Boy dies, two others hurt in Sherpur teenager attack

Sherpur, Sep 22: A teenage boy was killed and two others injured in an attack by another teenager on Sunday over a previous feud in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur.

The incident took place in the evening at Khoriapara village of Baghber union.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 13, son of Habibur Rahman.

The injured, Himel, 18, son of Sheikh Farid, and Asif, 16, son of Abul Hossain, were admitted to Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex.

According to police and locals, the attack was carried out by Faisal Ahmed, 15, son of Md. Sarwar, who beat Abdur Rahman with a stick.

Himel and Asif were also hurt while trying to save Rahman.

Abdur Rahman’s condition was critical, and was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

He died on the way to Dhaka for advanced treatment.

Faisal fled away after the incident.

Sohel Rana, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari Police Station, said, “We are aware of the incident, but no written complaint has been received yet. Legal action will be taken if a formal complaint is filed.” - UNB
