Body found along Myanmar border with Cox’s Bazar

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shamim said that BGB informed us regarding the issue. However, we could not recover the body.



An unidentified body was found in Rahmaterbil border area of Palangkhali union under Ukhiya upazila in Cox's Bazar amid ongoing clashes between Myanmar army and armed rebel groups in the country.

Locals noticed the body in the area on Thursday (February 8).

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shamim said that BGB informed us regarding the issue. However, we could not recover the body. After receiving official permission from BGB, further steps will be taken.

There was a terrible panic on the border in last couple of days. But since yesterday, the tension has eased a bit. The dwellers in the region are still in panic although no sound of firing and shelling heard now.

Earlier, 330 members of Myanmar's force fled Myanmar through several borders and took shelter in Bangladesh.
