Motorcyclist killed in Rampura road mishap

A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in the capital's Rampura area today.


The deceased was identified as deputy manager of Protiva Group, Mohammad Nazmul Islam (40), son of Mohammad Nurul Islam.

An oil tank lorry hit Nazmul's motorcycle on a bridge at Rampura around 9am today when he was going to his Gulshan office, police and local sources said.

He was later taken to a local hospital in serious condition, from where he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The doctor on duty there declared him dead at around 10:30 in the morning.

Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, a colleague of the deceased, said that Nazmul hailed from Narayanpur village under Jibannagar police station in Chuadanga district.

In charge of DMCH Police Camp, Mohammad Faruk said that the deceased's body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College Morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.
