Further inquiry ordered into extortion charge against Kalapara CPP official

Patuakhali: The court has directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to further investigate the extortion

case filed against upazila CPP officer Md. Ashad Uzzaman in Kalapara of Patuakhali. On Wednesday (October 4), Kalapara Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashish Roy's court ignored investigation officer, Kalaparapolice sub-inspector Md. Ziaul Islam's investigation report andordered PBI to conduct further investigation.

Earlier, some Shafiqul Islam Shanti Fakir, filed a case in the court accusing  upazila CPP officer Md Ashad Uzzaman for cheating and demanding Tk 2 lakhs taka extortion. The court directed the OC, Kalapara to investigate the allegations in the case. After the investigation officer submitted the investigation report, the plaintiff filed a complaint in the court. Later, at the end of the hearing today, the learned court ignored the investigation officer's report and directed the PBI to conduct further investigation.
